Meet The Volunteers
The Arts Council of Fort St. James started through an amazing local piano player, Elizabeth Halleran, who desired a cultural evening of music. She fund-raised to purchase a baby grand piano which served as the beginning of the concert series that the Arts Council continues to provide today!
Texture. Colour. Music.
The Arts Council of Fort St. James brings performing, visual and creative arts programming, performances and opportunities to residents of the Stuart Lake region. Everyone has a talent to share and teach each other and the Arts Council is the perfect opportunity to do just that. The organization is driven by volunteers which keeps it homey and inexpensive. The Arts Council extends an open invitation to anyone who wishes to share or learn a skill or participate in the organization. A $2.00 membership will welcome you to join the relaxed arts atmosphere.
The Arts Council of Fort St. James supports community groups such as Music Makers, the Figure Skating Club, Speed Skating, Friends of the Park, the National Historic Park, Music on the Mountain, Local First Nations and the District of Fort St. James.
