Meet Mary Willick

Mary Willick is the owner of Thread Shed Fabrications

When Mary Willick first started Thread Shed Fabrications 10 years ago, the main purpose was to be an entrepreneur and also contribute to the family income, yet still allow her the flexibility to raise young children. Now, however, what she loves most about being an entrepreneur is the independence and the challenge of learning new skills, but most of all the satisfaction she gets from pleasing all her customers. She is proud of her customer base and enjoys the work she does for them.

When she isn’t running her business, Mary can be found playing Ladies’ hockey, skiing or tickling the ivories of a piano. She is also active in various fibre arts. “Live a little,” is her philosophy.

Design. Digitize. Embroider.

Mary Willick loves the community of Fort St. James. “The beautiful view I see every day at work, at home, in town, is priceless.” So the decision to open Thread Shed Fabrications in her home town was an easy one. “Bloom where you are planted,” she says with a smile.

One advantage that sets her business apart is the fact that she can access many industry suppliers. If there is something you are looking for, Mary can source the item out for you and then suggest the best options so you can make an informed decision.

She takes pride in going the extra mile for her customers, and that’s just one way she gives to her community. Mary also gets involved with the Community Arts Council, Ducks Unlimited, and the Ladies’ Hospital Auxiliary.
